On December 30, 2020, an online awards ceremony was held for the winners of the media competition for the best coverage of the nuclear industry development in Kazakhstan.
The event was organized by Kazatomprom and the Nuclear Workers Trade Union.
To participate in the competition, the applicants submitted the materials of various genres, posted in the Kazakh media. By the decision of the commission, which included well-known mass media and PR experts, the following participants were announced the winners and prize-winners:
- "Best TV Material": 1st place - Zhurakhat Baman (Khabar24 TV), 2nd place - Nurlan Mukhamedzhanov (Astana TV), 3rd place - Gulsanat Artykbayeva (Ontustik TV).
- "Best publication in Internet media": 1st place - Rashit Ilyasov (Tengrinews.kz), 2nd place - Nurgali Kurmangali (Turaninform.kz), 3rd place - Yessimzhan Naktybayuly (Inbusiness.kz).
- "Best publication in print media in Russian language”: 1st place - Anatoly Laptev (Argumenty i Fakty Kazakhstan), 2nd place - Maksut Ibrashev (Kyzylordinskiye Vesti), 3rd place - Alexey Proskuryakov and Anna Chumina (UMZ-inform).
- "Best publication in print media in Kazakh language”: 1st place - Daulet Tursynuly (Ontustik Kazakhstan), 2nd place - Aykhan Sharipov (Aikyn), 3rd place - Zhaksylyk Suleimenov (Egemen Qazaqstan).
- In addition, the journalist Maksat Kargabay (Sozak Uny newspaper) was announced the winner of the special nomination “View from the Region” for a series of materials in the media aimed at raising the public awareness of the achievements of the country's nuclear industry in the regions.
The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded with diplomas and cash prizes.
